I suggest a FAQ because I have no idea how to use this site.

Wow, you both nearly have the same avatar... ;)

Yes, it's not active yet. We're actively gathering traders so that we're sure we'll get proper matches once I unplug the Barter.vg connection and we rely exclusively on the LT database. (Which WILL have to be done this week, if you want to be able to trade...!!)

In fact I'm considering unplugging it right now... (I'm close to completion on offer creation pages, and I get bugs because I'm having to juggle between Barter users and LT users...) (This has been an interesting afternoon.)

Could you please explain how I make a trade. Is there a way to know if a trade is safe?
The trading aspect itself will become more clear when the trading system comes out. In general, a trader is more "safe" the more positive rep they have. If they have one or more failed trades, I'd be wary. The protocol is generally the person that the lower/"worst" rep goes first, the person with the higher/"better" rep checks if the key works, and if it does, the "higher" rep person sends their key.

I hope you're not trolling.

Well we all had to start at one point. ;)
My first trade was with someone who wanted keys. I asked him what games he wanted, he said he only took keys. I told him okay but for what games? Aaaaah, there's nothing better than being a noob.

Cross posting from another thread...

Instead of a FAQ (or as a companion) maybe it would be nice to implement a "tutorial" (that you can turn off at some point on your settings) that will put useful bits of information on each important page of the site. When you start a trade, there could be a portion at the top (similar to the note on the main page) explaining what's that page and what you can do there ("This is the offer page, pick whatever you might like from each side blablabla..."). I think that would be very helpful for new users. Maybe adding a new subforum for FAQs (like "what's ratio", "listing of the bundle sites (past and present)") or tutorials/guides could be helpful, so you can redirect people there from the advices:
Quote
This is the offer page. On the top you'll see your games, blablabla... Be sure to check the information on each game like the ratio or the bundle vendor blablabla
I like the way barter guides you through the trading process (once you accept an offer it says something like "Add (user) on Steam to complete the trade" with a direct link to the Steam profile, so you can easily jump to it after accepting an offer and quickly send a friend request. Not very user friendly and sometimes a bit hidden, but something like that (correctly done) would be helpful.
