Find games with the name changed or incorrectly displayed
« on February 14th, 2018, 11:37 AM »
I was trying to find a specific game, only to realise the name is different from Steam both here and in Barter. Unfortunately I couldn't find it in the list here. Only through Barter I eventually reached the correct name.

The game is 'Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass', but it's shown as 'Max Payne 3 Season Pass'
Is it possible to improve the search to account for these use cases? Barter allows displaying all results in one page, which many times is useful to find incorrect naming or spelling mistakes.

Well, technically it's a season pass but you get my point.
I actually made a mistake here-- I manually renamed it to Season Pass from the BVG database in order for it to be searchable with 'season pass' keywords, but it looks like the original name was overwritten by mistake. I did it again and it's working now. You should be able to find it using either season or rockstar.

Generally speaking, the search engine at Lestrade's allows you to find a game through its two possible names: the Steam store page name, and the pseudo-package name (which is what shows up on Store pages next to the "Buy" button. Sometimes it's a completely different name.)
Barter uses store page titles, and Steamspy uses the pseudo-package name. I'm storing both.
