@LongBow, you can always send me donations by PayPal directly. ;) hello@world.com (replace hello with "paypal", and world with "kyodai") I also take wishlisted games-- for instance your copy of Worms Reloaded if it's the GOTY edition would be a fine reward. :D (https://lestrades.com/game/9839/)

@joaoarena - for now it's not possible. Of course it will be implemented in the future. What I would do for now is this: go to the user's tradables page, check if you want anything, and add it to your tradables.

@fading black - if you were registered at LT's before yesterday, then I made a final scrap about 24 hours ago that included all libraries, wishlists, tradables and blacklists. If it's not there, then you only registered today. In which case I'm afraid you'll have to wait for me to implement a one-time import for new users who were on Barter. The problem is that any games you added into your wishlist would then be duplicated with the ones imported from Barter...

...also see games others do not own and also not on their wishlist.
I try not to make those offers, but there are users I am used to trade with that are like me and just want to trade games, even if not on wishlist.
Thiss please!! I usually trade with game collectors and they usually don't have my games in their WL so I can't make them offers :(

I'll just wait in the shadows in the meantime ::)

I don't really ever chase after specific games, just ones that I don't currently own. Is that a thing? I can't check myself, because my library still says I have 0 games.

If i interpret the matches page correctly, at the moment it's only wishlist vs wishlist.
Would be a grat idea to implement the functionality barter had: Wishlist highlighted on both parties, unowned / not blacklisted stuff afterwards

How do you even post to tradables?
Go to any game page, click on Add to Tradables. ;)

You can also add DLCs to your library now!! Woohoo! ;)

It was possible until a couple of days ago when Nao decided to stop syncing with barter in order to enable the trading system on Lestrades. I think he has already stated that the syncing from Barter is coming back (or that he can help users to import their list of tradable). Right now I would recommend you to make a backup of your tradable list form Barter (you can export it in various formats), just in case. And wait for Nao to either re-enable the Barter sync feature, or some sort of importing a list of games (from the appids, or using an export from Barter, for example).

I was going to say that it might be possible to make a userscript to do the import (hammering Lestrades via POST with a list of games) but since the game pages don't use appids but an internal id, it's not so obvious or simple as I would have thought.

Nao's approach for importing data from Barter is better anyway (it also imports tags), so I'd really recommend to wait for his solution.

On the other hand, I thought that all users from Barter had their lists synced on Lestrades already (despite having logged in here or not) and that they might just have missed any changes made on Barter from the last couple of days. I'm not sure why all your lists are empty :hmm:

EDIT: I just saw a post from Nao from three hours ago announcing that Barter imports were working again for new users. You might have found a bug if you have the sync button but it doesn't work as expected

What is the right way to do things guys...? I'm lots.
According to the screenshot you posted there, you already have your lists synced with Barter. What you have to do now is manually add games to your tradable as needed (that's explained on Alex's guide, just go to any game page and click on the "Add to tradables" button). I'm sure an easier method will be implemented soon (like adding games "en masse" from a bundle page). You might only need to manually do any changes you made to your Barter tradables since Nao stopped syncing with it (3-4 days ago).

Regarding the cancel button, I understand why you felt confused:

On Barter, if you left an offer while you were creating it, it was either left in "limbo" or cancelled (being cancelled was a bit annoying if you had accidentally left the page by pressing backspace, for example). Here in Lestrades when you create an offer it isn't actually stored until you add items to it (you could have left that page and the offer would have disappeared). One the other hand, if you had thrown some items here and there, the offer would go into "Editing" mode, meaning you could leave the page and you wouldn't lose it (it's kept in your "Offers" list with the  "Editing" status). You can go back to it and continue building the offer, or just cancel it.

Strange, I've just made a test and it doesn't work as I remembered it from the initial tests  I'm getting old :(

From what I've seen, if you leave the offer page while you're creating it would be the same as "cancelling" it. However, I think that it would be nice to have something more visual (like a cancel button which does nothing more than getting you out of the editing page -thus "cancelling" the creation of the offer-) otherwise, I understand why people could feel they just reached an "impasse".

I think what Nao said is that the offer isn't created until you hit , so there's nothing really to cancel there.

Alex, I can't quote your messages (bug?).

To be honest, I thought it worked differently when I did some tests with Nao but I might be just remembering it incorrectly.

I still think there should be a "Cancel Offer" button when you create an offer (even if it just takes you out of the editing page, without actually canceling anything internally). Otherwise, you only have the option of "Preview" (when you start creating the offer) or "Preview" and "Send" (when you've already started adding stuff to the offer). There's no clear way to cancel the creation process (yes, you could just "walk away" from the editing page, but not all users -especially new users- might know that). If you check Milouze's screenshot, it's clear why a user might think he's just at an impasse at that point.

On the same topic, I almost declined an offer today because I was going to click the wrong button. Confirmation of the desired action (accepting or declining the offer) would be a good idea. No need to reload the page like Barter does to warn you that you are committing to the trade, but just an extra "Are you sure you want to decline?" or "Confirm you will send blablah in exchange for blablah" (or a more simple phrasing) step in javascript to avoid to accidentally canceling/declining/accepting/completing a trade. Not sure if Nao might have already fixed it (I haven't sent any trades), but the same goes for not showing the "Complete trade" button just after you've created the offer (to avoid accidentally completing it, like Barter does).

As usual, not a priority but a mental note to myself and Nao :P

- Agreed on the Cancel button.
- I really dislike confirmation buttons that are turned on by default UX wise as in 99% of the cases you *want* to do that action and it will just add an extra click. As an user option you can turn off it'd be fine though ;-).

imho better alternative way to do this would be "undo previous action" button,
that would available for few seconds after clicking (maybe 5 seconds or users can set the delay time themselves?)
That's swift. If you see that the offer was sent, giving 5-10 seconds to the user for a chance to go back seems the best idea!

I also agree that it's a bit inconvenient for "experienced" traders, but it's a way to ensure things (especially when accepting a trade, or marking it as complete). The best way would be to make it a user option as you suggested.

It's funny because...

I was thinking of you when I wrote my post because adding (or removing) that extra step could be done via userscript (it would be better to have it implemented directly on the site, though).

This came to mind because (as I explained) I almost inadvertently declined an offer earlier today, but I ended thinking of how new users (or people who are new to the trading world) could benefit from a bit of guiding in the process. Some examples:

- Confirming that you will send the selected games when accepting a trade
- Warning the user that by marking the trade as "complete" he is confirming he has received the game, and encouraging users not to complete a trade unless they did receive the game
- etc.

Again, not a priority but something that would be nice in the long term to make the site as (new)user-friendly as posible.

I also like the idea but:

1. It should still be a user option
2. It's not very informative. I mean, look how Milouze was puzzled by the lack of a "Cancel" button when editing an offer, feeling he just reached an impasse. Now add a button with a countdown timer like you have to defuse a bomb... If I were a newbie, that would scare me the first time I see it ("What? What did I do? Do I have to wait? Is something bad going to happen when it reaches zero?")
