Yeah, it's something a bit weird and counter-intuitive (changing order in wishlist/tradable pages impacting order on offer creation) that I decided early on not to carry onto Lestrade's.

Yes, I'm talking with him and it's not looking great.

No wonder though. Apparently he fixed the Steam Connect problem, so that means he started to work on his site... the day after I released the trading system here. The day after Barter was suddenly no longer mandatory to sustain a trader's life.

I suppose the return of Barter has the tendency to be very confusing for everyone at this point in time. May I ask what is not looking great? That we now have two competing trading platforms all of a sudden and/or that the situation for Barter.vg is not looking great due to certain issues and/or that significant work might in hindsight not have been necessary?

It seems that the barter admin has trouble with performance, something NAO seems to handle much better.
Might be a good idea if the two could work together.

1/ Err... I'm only getting started with Lestrade's. Would you not rather I work on improving it..?
2/ Last year I asked the admin for his match query to help improve it, he didn't send it. Yesterday he offered to send it to me, I said why not, and he didn't send it. I'm not sure he wants outside help. (Or at least from me.)

Really, I'm 100% on LT. I still need to release a tagging system, as well as write counter-offers, failed offers, decline reasons, tons of things left to do. I've already lost 2 days because I had to move to another server. (And again I'm very glad I did-- I get to talk more with devotee, and the site is 10 times faster.)

Tomorrow I should be back at work on LT. (I did work on it today, but it was on fixing bugs that were caused by the server move.)

Sure thing, main focus should be LT.
But i remember you making some educated guesses about why barters sql is slow, so maybe just hint him in the right direction.
I just noticed today barter was reeeally slow. :D

I pointed him to the way I was doing my query (I would have given him a link to my post but I couldn't find it anymore).
He said he was doing it similarly (and I can believe him, since there aren't 10 different ways to do it), but that his main problem was indexing it. I told him to index every single column and then progressively remove indexes and compare performance. I really, really couldn't have helped him more than I did, aside from doing it all myself. ;)

Well, now that is beyond my level of expertise. We don't even know what server he's using. :^^;:
