Humble Bundles
« on July 18th, 2017, 08:33 PM »
Weird that there isn't a topic for discussing humble bundles yet...

I nearly bought Batman Telltale during the sale but figured such a good price (7 or 8 bucks?) would mean a Telltale bundle by the end of the year. I was right, sooner than expected though!

Now, it's even more amusing in that I documented a few days ago how i focused on fixing the many screwed up app & package IDs for telltale games in the database. For instance, Hector full series is internally using the app id for episode 3 on Steam, so the ITAD bundle entry got stuck with it. I fixed it with the actual package id. I'm mostly saying that, so you could all update your custom wishlists to that package. Unfortunately i can't fix your steam wishlists though. Just so you know. Just add the package to your LT wishlist on top of your steam wishlist entry!

Nobody caught it, so I feel it warrants a mention: the ITAD bundle had "Game of Thrones" (the French RPG) in it, instead of the Telltale game.
Not my fault, this time :) Fixed it.

The new Humble Bundle is really good, especially tier 2. (Endless Legend, Borderlands 2, Guilds of Engineering.)

Its value has started to increase, but I've kept a tab open with a $4.35 BTA (i.e. pay $4.36), the lowest I was able to get.[1]

Anyway, if anyone wants to get it at that price ($4.36), feel free to PM me before I accidentally close my tab, and we can arrange for that, either with a couple CSGO keys and minor games, or with Paypal but it adds a few cents as a tax if you're not in the same country or continent, I'm not sure.
Of course, I'll reserve the liberty to choose who I buy it for, if I get more than one request.
 1. It's currently at a $4.43 price so it's not much less, but it'll keep increasing anyway. (Even if The Pre-Sequel is unlikely to drive many sales -- after all, I did get it for $3.74 from Steam earlier this year, so the tier 3 price difference is actually higher than that. Bad deal. I doubt HB thought the BTA tier would go to such lows, so that'd explain.)

My tab crashed for lack of RAM (I'm encoding a video, silly me eh?), but oddly enough I have one working tab left at $4.43. Since the price has increased to ~$5 it's still worth keeping that tab open but I won't do it all day.

Get a raspberry pi to track bundle prices. It stands a few tabs open :D

I was only trying to be of service to one absent-minded user. ;)
Didn't get any PMs though, and my browser is taking all 16GB of my RAM so I'm gonna have to restart it. Offer canceled!

I've got 3 tabs with the newest regular Humble Bundle set at $3.04, if anyone missed out on it. That's $0.60 lower than the current BTA.
Will close them soon if no one wants them, like last time.

Stories, a game with a fairly big number of wishlisters, is currently at $2... Lowest ever... Do you guys think it's worth it?
I mean, if it's on sale at Humble, it's very likely it'll be in a humble bundle in the next couple of weeks... Maybe in the humble monthly, I don't know. It's the kind of situation where I'm unsure whether to buy a game on sale -- been burnt many times already.

Yeah but what if it ends up in a tier 1 next week..?
I mean, has anyone ever had any experience with Humble where a game is being sold on their store for cheap and then immediately bundled after that?

If you start thinking like that, you can stop buying completely.
Games will always be cheaper in some distant or not so distand future.

The question is not "will it be cheaper", but "Is that price okay for me".

Not always... I've seen a lot of games reach their all-time lowest price in Summer '15 or Winter '16 and never go to their previous levels again.
I also have a ton of games in my wishlist that I've never seen *once* on sale or bundled... e.g. niche games released years ago that the publisher even forgot they have.

Of course, and also: "when will I ever play it?"
If the answer is, "I have 20+ other games I wanna play first", it's probably best to wait more. ;)
Otherwise it's just an addiction. And I already have enough on my hands with my smoking.

Layers of Fear is currently free on the Humble Store. It also includes a separate key for the soundtrack.
Pretty great offer, since its current ratio is very high. I'd recommend you get a copy right now. I'm not into horror games but I sure will redeem it.

Lol Humble is getting so weird... new bundle, not the Rockstar bundle that was leaked last week though, but a bad bundle with mostly rebundles, including Majesty 2 which they bundle already as a tier 1 just 2 months ago..! Looks like the base game will drop in value a lot.

Who remembers the last time humble bundle had a weekly bundle around..? An actual one with actual games..?!

Looks like IGN decided to shut them down and only keep the profitable part (monthly, where you can't give 100% to charity...)

So sad.
