The Illustrious Idea / Re: Option to disable receiving offers

I'm not a fan of disabling offers entirely. You may miss out on a good offer. There's nothing that forces you to answer the offers. You can disable e-mail notifications of new offers. After a week offline your matches will not be unfolded by default. And if you still get offers, you can just ignore them. Really, zero drawbacks to that -- I don't expire stuff, I don't keep track of that, it's very artificial to me. (Many Barter features are pointless IMHO. Just because we're based on the same idea doesn't mean I have to do everything like it does or that it has to do everything like I do.)
Just because you're not a fan of it doesn't mean other users of the site aren't. I like to disable offers on barter while I'm unavailable for trading so it doesn't look like I'm just outright ignoring people who send offers (because it makes me come off as utterly rude by not responding to them, and then those people may not want to send me offers in the future when I am available).

Like Barter's "unavailable" setting.

Still, your extension is buggy because it doesn't handle font size correctly. Not my fault.. :-/
This is the only site that happens on where it massively increases the size like that, and only with the one icon...

TBH, those cons don't really seem like cons to me. If they're tiny icons, the filesize to download is negligible, not even comparable to the html page itself; most half decent image editors can export as SVG, so it's no harder to modify than PNG unless you insist on trying to code the SVGs from scratch, and I have no idea how it would be "harder to maintain" unless all you're talking about is trying to get an icon that works on both light and dark backgrounds with proper transparency around the icon.

I should probably just drop it and stop replying, but to me, it sounds like you're saying you have things the way you like/want them.

Text emoji, in general, look terrible to me (sure I'm not the only one with that opinion), especially when looking at the other icons next to that blacklist one - http://i.imgur.com/uaqI8L5.png - the blacklist is just an outline (like all text emoji) whereas the others are colored and filled in, they look like proper icons. The star for wishlist and the arrows for tradables are also text, yes, but they aren't emoji, so they have a different look and aren't just outline. Matches, library, bundles, and offers all look like they're already icons, why not do the same for blacklist?

Not showing that way to me... What browser are you using? I suppose it's only behaving that way on that one?
Chome, but I figured out why - I have this extension to turn unicode emoji into proper graphical emoji, and it seems you're using a text-based unicode emoji for the blacklist icon instead of a graphical image, so the extension replaces it with the graphical icon.

I've put this site on the blacklist for that extension for now, but it would probably be a good idea to use an image instead of text for that icon, since this extension and others like it are very widely used to show proper emoji in place of text.

Edit: The unicode site has the graphical icons for all the emoji if you want to use that:

Thank you. It took me a minute to find it though - I went to the "Profile - Look and Layout" page at first and didn't see it. I guess the location of the button right now is more optimal for you since you can hit it on any page to see the differences easily.

Btw, why is the blacklist icon so massive?

It makes the vertical height of all those tabs seem way too large for the rest of them.

The Illustrious Idea / Re: Feature suggestions for the Matches page

I'd love an option to "show X per-page" instead of having them all on one long page. It takes a couple seconds to load the page atm for me because of the length, and that load time is only going to get worse as more people register.

I didn't mean for you to drop everything and suddenly implement themes. I know CSS takes a while to get right. All I'm saying is that having site themes without requiring users to install external software or extensions is much more preferable. Obviously, the actual features of the trading and such should be done first. For now, I can definitely use an extension, but having built-in themes is a much better option. The same could be said for site features. For example, Enhanced Steam is great, I love it, but it would be better if those features didn't require the extension and they were default, built-in, Steam features available on any client.

I won't be a prisoner to user requests. I welcome them because sometimes people think of things I didn't think about, but I'm not going to overhaul the site completely because it suits you better.
Sorry, I don't mean to be rude or come off as argumentative (even though I know I do come off that way sometimes).

If you never visit a site with a black on bright background, then you're probably only going to Steam, Groupees and Humblebundle, and you're missing out.
That comparison doesn't really make much sense though because for bundle or store sites you generally only visit them to buy something, activate your keys (or download the drm-free game), and then leave. But a trading site is more of a hub for all those purchases that is typically visited much more frequently.

Edit: Also, Steam does have a white icon made for dark backgrounds... they use it on the store page: http://i.imgur.com/sjFKaMK.png

And Twitch.tv does purple on dark just fine.

You're not even asking for something, you're just... Complaining?

I've already said that I tried building a white-on-black theme, and it just looked terrible. All of the icons from Barter are optimized for white backgrounds, most of my own custom icons are just unreadable on a black background. You're better off using DarkReader to force it to a dark background, the results are actually better than what I did manually.
Anyway-- not a priority. Really not.
I was suggesting a dark theme. I shouldn't have to install yet more chrome extensions when a site could offer various themes, especially when there's already a section in the account settings for look and layout. Theme selection should definitely be in there.

I didn't know you already attempted a dark theme. However, Barter did have a dark theme, so I'm not sure why you're saying their stuff was "optimized for white backgrounds" when it looked perfectly fine with their dark theme.

I've resisted moving over to this site until now because of the option of a dark theme available on barter and this site only being available in white, but am forced to now because of being unable to login to barter anymore.
